Preserving and improving quality of life – that is our core concern in palliative medicine at the WEGE KLINIK. With holistic treatment, we support people who are living with an advanced incurable illness, regardless of the diagnosis. Our individualised therapies are precisely tailored to your personal situation in order to offer you relief. We are at your side with care and deep understanding.
Because we know: This time is challenging. But you don’t have to face it alone. We listen to you, respond to your needs and do everything we can to give you back precious moments and quality of life.
In our inpatient palliative care centre, we offer you a place of peace and security. Nine spacious single rooms create space for personal moments. If necessary, your relatives can also stay overnight with us so that they can spend this time together with you.
Our large, well-equipped kitchen invites you to cook and bake together. An experienced team of nursing staff, social workers, physiotherapists, counsellors, psycho-oncologists and palliative care physicians are at your side, supported by our volunteers.
We organise all the necessary assistance, such as nursing services or specialised outpatient palliative care (SAPV). We can also help you find a place in a hospice. Our hospital chaplain will accompany you sensitively and can also provide religious counselling on request.
In our palliative outpatient clinic, you will receive comprehensive support while you can remain in your familiar home. We advise you on individual outpatient treatment methods, offer psychosocial and psycho-oncological care as well as access to a self-help group in our clinic.
Take advantage of our wide range of treatment options while remaining in your familiar surroundings.
You are welcome to make an appointment for a consultation in our palliative outpatient clinic by calling 0228 5306 301.
"Helping you and supporting you in your situation is a deep need for us. We can still do a lot for you and give you back some of your quality of life."
We alleviate and treat:
Pain
Nausea
Vomiting
Shortness of breath
Restlessness
Fear
Open wounds
Complex disease processes
It may not be curable, but with the right medical care it is much easier to cope with. We use medication and therapies to maintain and improve your quality of life as best we can.
Exercise can relieve pain and is also good for your mental health. Our team will guide you through various modern physiotherapy exercises and provide soothing massages to relax and calm your symptoms.
A diagnosis of “incurable” is a stroke of fate that turns life upside down. It leaves its mark, is upsetting and unsettling. Our team of full-time and volunteer staff are there to help you and offer support in discussions with you and your relatives.
Everyone deals with difficult situations differently. Especially in such unusually life-changing moments as on our palliative care ward, many people turn to spirituality for comfort. Our hospital chaplain will be happy to accompany you on this path with empathetic conversations beyond the comprehensible level. If required, she will also be happy to put you in touch with church chaplains if you need religious counselling.
Do you need help from our expert team of palliative care physicians, carers, social services and psycho-oncologists?
